ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina woman is now facing a murder charge after police say she ran over her husband with a car last month.

Elizabeth City police say a grand jury indicted Tyisha Major for the murder of Jermaine Major.

Back on February 8th, police found the man underneath the wife’s car at White Street and Walston Street. The 43-year-old man died a short time later, according to police.

The wife was originally charged with driving while impaired and felony death by motor vehicle.

The 44-year-old woman was arrested on the new charge on Monday and jailed with no bond.
