POLICE: Multi-week investigation leads to drug and firearm arrest in Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – A man in the east has been arrested on multiple gun and drug charges after a multi-week investigation.

On 1-26-2024 officers with the Rocky Mount Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, K-9 unit and the Violent Crime Apprehension Team executed a search warrant at 819 Star Street after a multi-week drug investigation.

During the search officers located 77.35 of crack cocaine, 34.15 grams of marijuana, a AR-15 Rifle, ammunition , Schedule I pills, 7.5 dosage units of Schedule II pills, drug paraphernalia and seized $1,920.

Kelsey Bynum was arrested at the residence and charged with, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for control substance, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, and misdemeanor simple possession of MDPV.

Bynum received a $70,000 bond and posted bond at the Magistrate’s Office.
