POLICE: Men arrested after multiple Wayne County robberies

WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two men have been arrested after police say they robbed multiple businesses at gunpoint.

Sunday, around 12 p.m., Goldsboro police say they went to a report of an armed robbery at Vapor Plus on 2605 Royall Avenue. According to police, the business reported that a man entered the store and threatened employees with a gun. The suspect then took cash from the business during the robbery.

A few minutes later, around 12:12 p.m., officers say they went to another report of an armed robbery at 5-Star Convenience Store on 3504 Central Heights Road. The business said that a man threatened employees with a gun and also took cash from the store.

Witnesses were able to describe the suspect’s vehicle and the direction he left. Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office were able to find the vehicle and arrest the driver and passenger.

The two suspects were identified as Jamario Deshawn Weeks, 33, and Daniel Jay Wiltshire II, 22. A gun was also found inside the vehicle.

Both were transported to the Goldsboro Police Department and were charged with two counts of Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and two Counts of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon.

Both men are being held with no bond pending a first appearance in court on Monday at 1 p.m.

According to police, the investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
