POLICE: Man shows up to hospital with gunshot wounds following shooting that prompted school lockdowns

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Greenville police are investigating after a man was shot Wednesday afternoon.

Greenville Police Public Information Office Kristen Hunter said that officers responded to a shots fired call at the 1800 block of Norcott Circle.

Hunter said a short time later a man showed up in a private vehicle to ECU Health Medical Center with what appear to be non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.

The shots fired call prompted a modified lockdown at J.H. Rose High School and South Greenville Elementary School, according to Pitt County Schools Public Infomation Officer Tom McClellan.

The lockdowns were lifted just after 12:50.
