NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – Police say a New Bern man drove to Michigan and brought back a teenage girl who was then raped.

Jerome Farrow, Jr. was arrested yesterday by New Bern police after they received a tip that the runaway girl might be in New Bern.

The 34-year-old Farrow was charged with first-degree kidnapping and statutory rape of a person 15 years of age or younger.

Farrow was jailed without bond while the girl was being cared for by the Department of Social Services.
