Police make third arrest in connection to deadly Greenville shooting

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Residents of one Eastern Carolina neighborhood were greeted by police and swat on their commute to work Monday morning as authorities made another arrest in the deadly shooting of man.

WITN is told police are serving an arrest warrant related to the Sterling Point Community shooting that killed 33-year-old Patrick Bland last Thursday.

19-year-old Zaquavion Carney was arrested and charged with murder, according to the Greenville Police Department. The warrant was served at a home at 3329 Stone Bend Drive around 8 a.m. Monday morning.

This is the third arrest in the case. Last week, police charged Kentavious Condery, 20, of Farmville, with murder, while 32-year-old Deontre Taylor, of Winterville, was charged with discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police say Bland was found around 7:00 p.m. near building 3909 at Sterling Pointe.

Bland died at the scene.

Carney was given a $3 million bond and place in the Pitt County jail.
