Police make arrest in Greenville Monday afternoon homicide

EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Police say an arrest has been made after a man was shot and killed Monday afternoon in Greenville.

Authorities say Zy’quan Johnson, of Walstonburg, was arrested in Rocky Mount last night, with help from the Rocky Mount Police Department.

Greenville Police says officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of West 3rd and White streets. They found 24-year-old Jahsijah Jahson dead in the yard of a home on West 3rd Street.

The man, who police said did not live in the West 3rd Street area, had several pending armed robbery and conspiracy charges in Pitt County. Two of those charges were from 2017, while another pair was from last year.

Johnson has been charged and is currently in the Edgecombe County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are forthcoming.
