JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Police say they are investigating the death of a 15-year-old at a pool in Jacksonville on Saturday.

The Jacksonville Police Department says at approximately 3:50 PM, Jacksonville Fire Emergency Services responded to Holiday City Community Homes on Corbin Street in reference to a nonresponsive juvenile.

They say upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a 15-year-old female had been recovered from a pool where bystanders were administering CPR.

Emergency personnel took over life saving measures with no success.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the Medical Examiner’s Office is assisting in the investigation.
