GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – One person has died following a shooting in Goldsboro, according to police.

On Saturday, around 6:15 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department received a 911 call of report of a man being shot at 303 East Elm Street. When they arrived, they found Tyrone Hicklin, 56, of Goldsboro, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Hicklen was taken to UNC Wayne Health but was later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center for more treatment where he later died from his injuries.
