JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say a 19-year-old was killed at an apartment complex in Jacksonville on Sunday.

According to the Jacksonville Police department, they responded at 1:26 pm to Windsor Place Apartments at 4679 Western Blvd in reference to a shooting.

When they arrived, they say they discovered a man had been shot outside the property.

Police say first responders assisted the victim, later identified as 19-year-old Terrance Tyquawn Grant of Maysville who was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Jacksonville Police Investigative Services Lieutenant Ashley Potter says this is still an active investigation and there is no danger to the public.
