Police investigating after a shooting breaks out at an Elizabeth City 7-11

Police are investigating in the east after a shooting broke out at a convenience store and damaged their properties.

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) – Police are investigating in the east after a shooting broke out at a convenience store and damaged their properties.

According to the Elizabeth City Police, on August 4th and 2:36 a.m., officers responded to a 7-11 at 300 South Hughes Boulevard for a shooting.

When the officers arrived, they were told that a teenager came into the convenience store to buy a drink. While waiting in line, three people came into the store brandishing handguns. One of them fired a gun at the teenager as they were running from the store.

The police say three people have not been identified and no injuries are reported yet. The store’s sunglasses case and the ice machine were damaged from the shooting.
