POLICE: Greenville woman uses potato peeler to stab sister

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A Greenville woman is in jail, charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The weapon? A potato peeler.

Greenville police arrested Jocelun Sherrod on Wednesday for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats.

Her arrest warrant says the 34-year-old woman used the potato peeler to stab Brittany Sherrod on Marin Way.

The 33-year-old victim was stabbed on the left side of her torso, according to the warrant.

Police say the two women are sisters and the victim did not have serious injuries.

The potato peeler attack took place with two children in the house, according to police. They said it happened during an argument and that Sherrod threatened multiple times to kill her younger sister.

Sherrod remains in jail on a $10,000 secured bond.
