GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Police in one Eastern Carolina city say a woman is dead after a domestic fight ended in gunfire.

Goldsboro police were called to a shooting at 308 N. Kornegay Street around 9:15 a.m.

When officers got to the scene, they found a 23-year-old woman who had been shot. She died at the scene.

Police say the shooting stemmed from domestic violence between the woman and a man that she knew.

They say this is still an active investigation, and the woman will be identified after next of kin have been notified.
