Police chase ends after vehicle crashes into home

EDENTON, N.C. (WITN) – A police chase here in Eastern Carolina ended with the vehicle crashing into a house.

Edenton police say around 3:00 p.m. Thursday their officers tried to stop a vehicle for running a stop sign.

Police said they halted the chase out of concern for the public’s safety, but the driver ended up crashing the vehicle into a home in the 100 block of West Peterson Street.

Curtis Gregory ran from the crash, but police say they nabbed him hiding in some nearby bushes.

The 39-year-old Camden man was charged with felony flee to elude, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, injury to personal property, and two counts of probation violation.

Gregory was jailed on a $220,000 secured bond.
