EDGECOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Two Eastern Carolina sheriff’s offices are crediting teamwork with helping them catch a teenager wanted for two armed robberies.
On Saturday, Edgecombe County deputies pulled over Dentavis Staton on traffic charges and found he was wanted for a Pitt County robbery back on October 5th.
The robbery victim told Pitt County deputies that over $600 in cash and other items were taken as they were held at gunpoint.
During the traffic stop, the Edgecombe County deputies ran Staton’s information and discovered he was also wanted for an armed robbery in Granville County.
The 18-year-old Pinetops man was charged and booked into the Pitt County jail. Staton was released after posting a $100,000 secured bond.
