GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An internet and television provider to Eastern Carolina donated to Pitt County Schools to support the new school year.

During the Pitt County School’s International Teacher Celebration event at J.H. Rose High School last week, Optimum presented a donation of $15,000 to the school system. According to the announcement, the funding came in partnership with DonorsChoose, an education nonprofit.

This funding will support the public school teachers and students of Pitt County by giving them access to tools, technology, and experiences for student success, Optimum says.

Optimum says they have supported over 70 classroom projects across 20 Pitt County schools since 2020. Their goal is to support education, digital literacy, and community engagement in the county it serves.
