Pitt County high school gets new principal

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -An Eastern Carolina high school is getting a new principal.

T.J. Worrell starts his new job at D.H. Conley High School on July 1st.

Worrell replaces Dr. Michael Swinson, who is returning to Washington High School after three years at Conley.

Worrell has been in education for 26 years, the last 14 as a principal.

For the past six years, Worrell has been principal at the Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies in Elizabeth City.

The opening at Washington High became open when Isaac Lister, Jr. was transferred to Beaufort County’s Alternative Learning Program at the end of April after less than a year on the job.
