Pitt County farmers market returns Saturday after renovations

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A farmers market in the east is returning for its seasonal operation after a winter of renovations.

Pitt County announced that Leroy James Farmers Market, located at 4560 County Home Road, will reopen for the 2024 season this Saturday. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We are pleased with the renovations and cleaning efforts completed during the closing. The clean space and restructured market flow will provide vendors an improved experience when interacting with customers,” says Janis Gallagher, county manager.

The county highlights the market’s produce, baked goods, fresh meat, artisan crafts, and other local delicacies as vendors in the newly renovated space.

“Whether shopping for produce or hand-crafted goods, the Leroy James Farmers Market has something for everyone. Come early, shop local & meet me at the market,” continues Gallagher.
