Pitt County Farmers Market hours change for the summer

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) -An Eastern Carolina farmers market is extending its hours during the peak summer season.

The Leroy James Farmers Market in Pitt County will now be open on Tuesdays throughout the summer.

Starting next Tuesday, the market on County Home Road will be open on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The county says the market has been a success since its reopening on March 16th.

“Visitor counts continue to trend upward, averaging between 450- 875 shoppers mingling through the redesigned vendor space. It makes sense to trial a mid-week shopping day during peak growing season,” says County Manager Janis Gallagher.
