GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -First responders in Pitt County hosted an event Thursday for the public to learn about holiday safety in a fun way.
Pitt County Emergency Services held its annual holiday safety fair.
The free family event had activities and safety information for people of all ages. It also featured arts and crafts projects, food vendors, and a petting zoo.
Pitt County EMS paramedic Tiffany Blevins says, “Three years ago I decided to do this and I love to give back as much as possible. I couldn’t imagine not being able to give my kids some enjoyment on Christmas. As far as coming out, get out of the house, get that Christmas cheer. Maybe get some education on things such as how to prevent forest fires or house fires.
The event was also a collection point for donations of new, unwrapped toys for the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina.
The event took place at the Alice F. Keene District Park from 4-6 p.m.
