Pitt County Ag Center’s free pesticide drop-off event coming up

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) -Residents of one Eastern Carolina county will get a chance to drop off unwanted pesticide products.

Pitt County will hold the drop-off event next Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The free pesticide drop-off happens every two or three years.

It will be held at the Pitt County Agricultural Center on Government Circle.

The county says all residential and farm pesticide products will be accepted, including banned and outdated pesticides.

The products that will not be accepted are fertilizers, motor oil, bleach, or ammonia.

For pressurized pesticide gas cylinders or containers larger than five gallons, you should contact the Pitt County Cooperative Extension office at 252-902-1709 before the collection day for special instructions.
