Onslow Memorial Rehabilitation Center receives $10,000 grant

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina hospital rehabilitation center was granted thousands of dollars.

The Onslow Memorial Rehabilitation Center has been awarded $10,000 from the Board of Directors of the Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The funds are designated to a state-of-the-art traction table to up the center’s capacity to treat patients in the area, according to the Director of Rehabilitative Services at OMH Michael Kamp.

“We are overjoyed that the Foundation’s board members awarded this funding to our organization. The gift represents another step forward for the care of local patients as traction tables improve patient outcomes through goal-specific mobilization of the spine, and our therapist will adjust the treatments to fit each patient’s needs and comfort level,” Kamp explained.

Officials say the rehabilitation center is affiliated with the nationally accredited 162-bed hospital, treating patients of all ages and diagnoses.
