Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation names new executive director

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A man with 35 years of experience in fundraising has been named executive director for the Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation.

According to the hospital foundation, Thomas Giffin was recently appointed to head the foundation, citing his 35 years of experience in development and financial support.

“Tom’s experiences interacting with hospital CEOs – in both large and small medical systems across the country – has given him a deep appreciation of the opportunities involved at a vibrant community hospital like OMH,” stated Brandon Mills, chair of the foundation’s board. “His experience in aligning the passion of donors, to the needs of the organization he represents, will be key to the foundation’s continued growth.”

Giffin previously served as private fundraising with the University of Alabama-Birmingham, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Virginia Tech University, and Clemson University to name a few before shifting toward healthcare fundraising.

Giffin said that his goal will be to attract and raise funds to better impact the overall health of Onslow County residents.
