Onslow County roadway closing for weeks for construction

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A roadway here in the east is closing Monday morning for a couple of weeks for construction.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says a section of Blue Creek Road southwest of Jacksonville will close today at 8 a.m.

Officials say it’s scheduled to be closed for a couple of weeks.

The NCDOT says crews are replacing a deteriorating culvert at the crossing of the roadway near Jim Blake Road.

Traffic will be detoured while crews are working.

The NCDOT says drivers should use Pony Farm Road, Foy Lockamy Road, and N.C. 53.
