ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An Onslow County man is in jail after being charged with multiple child sex crimes.

Mark Barron was arrested Monday for three counts of statutory sexual offense with a child by adult, and five counts of indecent liberties with children.

Deputies say a couple of days after Christmas they started investigating the sexual abuse of a child. Barron was identified as a suspect and charges were brought after detectives met with the District Attorney’s Office.

The 34-year-old Richlands man was jailed on a $100,000 secured bond.
