WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – One person died in an early morning fire in one Eastern Carolina county.

Wayne County says the fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. today at a home in the 1800 block of O’Berry Center Road.

The dwelling is a single-story brick home.

The Rosewood Fire Department, as well as other fire departments, were called to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation
