OFFICIALS: Scheduled water outage in Atlantic Beach starts tonight

ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WITN) – A scheduled water outage is set to take place Monday night in one Eastern Carolina city.

The Town of Atlantic Beach says the outage will be along parts of the Atlantic Beach Causeway and near the intersection of the Causeway and Fort Macon Road.

Officials say the outage will start at 10 p.m. tonight and continue until Tuesday morning at 6 a.m.

Once water is restored, the town says residents are advised to boil all water used for human consumption including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation or use bottled water. Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water, according to officials.
