OFFICIALS: Five kilos of cocaine, guns, & drug trafficking equipment found in Northampton residence

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Earlier this week, law enforcement agencies from multiple counties say they teamed up to catch and arrest four people suspected to be involved in drug trafficking operations throughout Northampton and Halifax Counties.

On Tuesday officials say, LoRandy Broady and Jessica Leroy, of Gaston and Eric Gonzalez and Brian Gonzalez, both of Virginia, were arrested by the Down East Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force members.

The Northampton Sheriff’s Office says a search warranted done at a residence on Mt. Gallant Drive outside of Gaston uncovered five kilos of compressed powder cocaine, three firearms, and numerous items utilized to prepare and package illegal narcotics.

The sheriff’s office says the street value of the cocaine is about $150,000.00.

Both Broady and Leroy are facing trafficking in cocaine, felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place for the sale of controlled substance, felony conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Broady was given a $55,000.00 secured bond. Leroy was given a $41,000.00 secured bond.

Eric Gonzalez and Brain Gonzalez are facing two counts of trafficking in cocaine, felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place for the sale of controlled substance, felony conspiracy, possession of concealed handgun, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Eric Gonzalez received a $41,000.00 secured bond. Brain Gonzalez was given a $41,000 bond.

Officials say the Down East Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force is made up of officers and deputies from the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, Hertford County Sheriff’s Office, Bertie County Sheriff’s Office, and Ahoskie Police Department.

The Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force is made up of officers from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
