BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – The Highway Patrol said no charges were filed after two Bertie County deputies crashed while responding to a shooting call.
It happened Thursday evening around 5:40 p.m. on U.S. 13 near Askewville Road.
Troopers say the deputies were driving with blue lights and sirens when the first deputy braked suddenly and the deputy behind him collided with the first patrol car.
Both deputies were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin has yet to release any information on the actual shooting which he said was a man shooting at his neighbor.
