No arrests yet after Wilson man shot and then hit by car

WILSON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies in one Eastern Carolina county say they’ve made no arrests in the shooting death of a man who was then hit by a car.

Wilson County deputies say it happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday near Woodside Road and U.S. 264 Alternate.

Micheal Mitchell was found shot lying in the roadway. Deputies say the Wilson man was also accidentally hit by a car after being killed.

The man was attending a birthday party at a home on U.S. 264 Alternate, according to deputies.
