ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An arrest has been made is what New Bern police say was a serious assault last month.

Edwaun Gibbs is charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury, second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female, and breaking and entering with the intent to terrorize or injure.

Police say back on April 27th, they went to the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue. They believed a woman there had been assaulted but she couldn’t be found.

The victim was located a few hours later and was taken to the hospital.

Police say their investigation led them to Gibbs who was arrested in Onslow County today.
