New Bern High School students learning remotely today due to power outage

School officials say the school cannot run safely without power.

NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina high school is learning remotely on Tuesday because of a power outage.

Craven County Schools says New Bern High School students are learning remotely today due to a Duke Energy power outage.

According to Duke Energy’s Outage Map, the outage for an equipment upgrade. The software says power is expected to be restored by 9:00 a.m.

Officials say the school cannot operate safely without power.
