NCHP unveils new gen patrol vehicles: Mustangs

NORTH CAROLINA, N.C. (WBTV) — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol unveiled its new generation of patrol vehicles last week: 2024 Mustangs.

Troopers announced that 25 of the marked cars would debut in the coming months on interstates across N.C.

“History and traditions are an important part of our Patrol Family, and the use of Mustangs have their beginnings on the SHP in the 80s and early 90s,” a spokesperson wrote.

Officials say the cost of these vehicles is comparable to others currently deployed as part of the fleet.

“The new addition will help to broaden the equipment and resources made available to troopers to effectively keep our roadways safe,” the spokesperson continued.
