Nash Co. deputies arrest man on 10 counts of sexually exploiting children

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina sheriff’s office says they arrested a Rocky Mount man after finding provocative files of children on his devices.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says Muad Ali Ashohatee was arrested after deputies and investigators from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, Internet Crimes Against Children Division (ICAC) charged him with 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Officials say the agencies obtained a search warrant, took electronic devices from Ashohatee’s residence at 824 Peachtree Street, and found evidence on the hardware.

The sheriff’s office says Ashotoatee,29, was arrested Thursday and given a $300,000 secured bond.

He is being held at the Nash County jail.
