Names released in Pitt County shootout that killed two men

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies have released the names of two men killed in a shootout Sunday night outside of Farmville.

Deputies found 35-year-old Billy Holmes and 33-year-old Eric Caldwell dead at the home on South Glenwood Lane shortly before 8:00 p.m.

A news release says during the shooting, both men fired at least once, striking the other.

Deputies say two children, ages 8 and 10, were in the home at the time but were not injured.

Holmes lived at the home, according to deputies.

The investigation into the shooting is continuing, the news release says.
