KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – There is more information about an inmate who was found dead Tuesday inside the Lenoir County jail.

The SBI is investigating the death of 48-year-old James Hill.

Hill was jailed last Wednesday on several charges, including possession of stolen property, resisting a public officer, obtaining property under false pretense, defrauding an alcohol test, and four felony probation violations.

The man was in jail on a $419,500 bond.

The sheriff’s office has yet to release how Hill died in the jail.
