Meet Esther, Corolla’s newest resident!

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – There’s a new foal on the Outer Banks and her name is Esther.

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund says the filly was born on the first week of June and “is absolutely perfect.”

It has been a tough month for the herd. They had to euthanize a 30-year-old mare on June 14th and a stallion on June 11th, both because of severe colic. On June 4th, a filly born just a few days earlier also had to be put down.

The Wild Horse Fund says Esther has a very experienced mother and both are doing well.

The organization reminds everyone to give Esther plenty of room to grow, stay 50 feet away from all the wild horses and never feed them.
