Martin County man charged in several vehicle break-ins

MARTIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies say a man is in custody and facing charges after multiple vehicle break-ins earlier this month.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office says a call came in about a suspicious person in the West Park Road area around 4:30 a.m. on June 18.

Deputies and officers from the Williamston Police Department found the man, identified as Anthony Beach, and detained him.

During the investigation, evidence was collected and Beach was interviewed. Investigators were able to form probable cause and got warrants to charge the 20-year-old Williamston man with several vehicle break-ins.

The sheriff’s office says the break-ins happened in the West Park Road, East Park Road, Smith Lane, Gary’s Lane, McCaskey Road and White Oak subdivision areas between June 13 and 18.

Beach has been charged with 18 counts felony breaking and or entering of a motor vehicle, eight counts larceny after breaking and or entering, four counts larceny of a firearm, four counts felony possession of a stolen firearm and one count felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is being held under a $100,000.00 secured bond.
