Man wanted in 2022 overdose death of Duplin County teenager

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Deputies in one Eastern Carolina county are asking for your help in tracking down a man wanted in an overdose death.

Duplin County deputies have obtained warrants for Antonio Santes.

The 25-year-old Santes is wanted for the September 14, 2022 overdose death of 18-year-old Melana Villafranco.

Deputies say at first, Santes told them he had given her what he thought was Xanax. But her autopsy shows the woman’s death was due to a deadly overdose of fentanyl.

Santes is wanted for involuntary manslaughter and delivery of Schedule II controlled substance.

The man is 5′10 tall and weighs around 170 pounds, with long brown hair and green eyes. Santes has multiple tattoos along his neck, chest, and arms. He is believed to be in the Kinston area.
