Man convicted of trafficking meth in Nash County gets lengthy prison sentence

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) -The Nash County Sheriff’s Office says a man charged with having four pounds of cocaine following a traffic stop has been found guilty on all charges and is headed to prison for decades.

The sheriff’s office says 32-year-old Omaar Amante of Georgia was sentenced to 37 years behind bars after being found guilty of two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine.

His vehicle was stopped on U.S. Highway 64 near Rocky Mount in March 2022 where authorities seized the drugs.
