Man charged after Goldsboro police say he stole ambulance

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – Goldsboro police say a suspect is behind bars after stealing an ambulance.

Police say just before 8:00 Saturday night officers from Goldsboro Police Department went to the area of UNC Health Wayne for a report of a stolen ambulance.

When they arrived, police say the suspect, Raul Moore, 23, drove the ambulance back into the front parking lot of the hospital where he intentionally struck an occupied patrol vehicle.

Police say Moore then stopped the ambulance and was taken into custody without issue.

Officers were able to locate the stolen ambulance in the area of Wayne Memorial Drive and New Hope Road.
