Man arrested on drug charges after narcotics investigation in Rocky Mount

Authorities say Haskins was found to be carrying 9,101.6 grams of heroin.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) – Police say a man was arrested on multiple drug charges on April 12, 2024 in Nash County.

The Rocky Mount Police Department says 57-year-old Keith Haskins was taken into custody after a months-long investigation by the Narcotics Unit.

They say it was discovered that Haskins would be entering the city of Rocky Mount through an Amtrak train at 100 Coastline Street and carrying illegal drugs.

RMPD says the Violent Criminal and Gang Apprehension Team, along with the K-9 Unit, assisted in apprehending Haskins.

Authorities say Haskins was found to be carrying 9,101.6 grams of heroin.

Haskins was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin/opium, given a $5000 secured bond and placed in the Nash County Jail.
