Man airlifted to Greenville after Goldsboro shooting

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) – A man has been airlifted to a trauma center after a morning shooting in Goldsboro.

Goldsboro police say the shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. in the area of South Slocumb Street and Harris Street.

The victim, 40-year-old Orondi Ellis, of Walstonsburg, had already been taken to Wayne UNC Health Care by a private vehicle. The man was then airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center for treatment.

Police say the shooting investigation is in its early stages and they hope to release more information later.
