KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A Kinston man is accused of assaulting four police officers during an arrest late yesterday afternoon.

Perry Jones is charged with four counts of felony assault causing physical injury to a law enforcement officer, felony resisting a law enforcement officer causing serious injury, and resisting a law enforcement officer.

Police say they saw the 47-year-old Jones on Macon Street and tried to arrest him on outstanding drug warrants. They say the man tried to walk away.

Officers say as they tried to arrest Jones, he began kicking and headbuttting them. With the help of additional officers, police were able to arrest Jones who was then jailed on the charges.
