Lenoir County man will buy home with $100,000 win

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – A Lenoir County man always thought he would win a lottery and can now buy a house.

Lorenzo Williams, of Kinston, says he will be able to fulfill his dream of owning a home with family after winning a $100,000 prize in a lottery drawing.

“We’ve been trying to buy a home for about three years now,” he said. “This right here will be a big help for us in getting that home.”

Williams, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery, won his big prize from the Season-End Extravaganza Lucke-Rewards drawing on January 3rd. The lottery said there were 4.2 million entries and awarded three North Carolinian players with the $100,000 prize.

He took home his winnings, $71,500, after required federal and state taxes.

“I’m just happy and thankful,” Williams said. “It feels really good.”
