KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A Lenoir County man was arrested and charged with felony flee to elude after fleeing from police on an ATV, according to the Kinston Police Department.

Police say the driver, Carlo Carmon, 42, of Lenoir County was taken into custody for felony flee to elude, careless and reckless driving.

Kinston police say around 7:00 p.m. Saturday, they saw several ATVs riding over at the Georgia K. Battle Park and fled the area once they saw police.

Police say they attempted to pursue the ATVs but stopped the pursuit shortly afterward.

During an area search, they found one of the ATVs and its driver hiding in some bushes.

Carmon has been placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
