KINSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – – A convicted felon from Lenoir County has been charged with buying ammunition and possessing cocaine.

Kinston police arrested Alvin Dove on Friday.

The 48-year-old man has been charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and soliciting the unlawful purchase of ammunition.

Police say on May 30th around 6:30 p.m., the police department’s Violent Crime Action Team stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.

Inside the vehicle, police found suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.

Dove was released, and after the cocaine tested positive, he was then arrested.

Being a convicted felon, police say Dove cannot possess ammunition.
