CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An automotive repair business was heavily damaged by a late morning fire in one Eastern Carolina county.

Five different fire departments in Craven County were called to Full Speed Inc. Automotive and Diesel Performance and Repair.

Assistant Emergency Services Director Ira Whitford says it took firefighters about an hour to put out the fire on West Grantham Road.

There was at least one explosion, probably caused by cars and other items stored inside the business, according to Whitford.

A fire chief at the scene says the building is likely a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
