Kinston woman facing charges after car overturns, trapping her inside

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A woman is facing multiple charges after her vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Kinston police say the single-vehicle crash happened on Girl Scout Road shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday.

Officers found Ikedia Hines trapped in her vehicle. City firefighters were able to free the woman from the wreckage and she was airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center for her injuries.

Police say the 38-year-old woman lost control in a curve,

Hines was charged with driving while license revoked, failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to maintain lane control, and simple possession of marijuana.
