Kinston woman arrested twice within three hours early Sunday morning

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – Police in the east say a woman is behind bars without bond after she was arrested twice by the same officer early Sunday morning.

The Kinston Police Department says Aaliah Anderson is facing two counts of driving while impaired.

Officials say an officer pulled 27-year-old Anderson over at 12:33 a.m. for a traffic stop. During the stop, WITN is told the officer suspected she was impaired. She then was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, according to the police department.

About three hours later at 3:48 a.m., the police department says officers were finishing a service call when Anderson passed the same arresting officer speeding. Officials say she was going 72 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

Anderson was arrested and charged again with driving while impaired after the officer stopped her again and determined she was still impaired, according to the police department.

Her vehicle was taken under North Carolina’s DWI seizure requirements.

Anderson was put into the Lenoir County jail without bond.
